(jk not rly hehe)

Hi there! My name is Jonathan Bacaoat. I'm from Charleston, SC but I moved to the beautiful place of Seattle, WA in 2015.

I recently dropped digital photography in June 2018 and went cold turkey into Film photography and have been in love ever since.  I was wasting so much of life snapping 98 pictures every minute instead of enjoying the world around me.  Film photography brings a delayed gratification and nostalgia that is just so timeless.  It is my own readily rewarding version of therapy.   It captures all the pretty flaws, user-mistakes, and strokes of genius around me in life.  Every shot counts (and costs $$$).  Almost all of the photos you see here will be unedited scanned straight from my local photo shop, Omega Photo in Bellevue, WA.

This is my blog full of cool stuff, cool reviews, and cool experiences, all shared by the coolest people I've ever met.  It is full of 'what you see is what you get' and a break from the social media matrix of pseudo insta(gram)nt gratification.

The first artist i ever realized i loved, as i got older.  I remember listening to her as a kid, not even realizing i thought she was a he, because of her voice.  I knew her primarily through the song "Give Me One Reason" (and i'll turn right back around)...

It's crazy how a few days can really change your world in such a short time.  It's also crazy to me how inspiring it feels to see someone genuinely try and see good in the saddest of things.   It is an unbelievable feeling to sense that someone can feel happy in times...

This roll was shot on a Leica M3 Black Paint (Repaint by the Takahashi Brothers of Japan).  I used a 50mm Summicron Version III, the fabled ugly duckling of the Summicron 50mm.  I love this lens combo, don't let specs fool you.  This was one of my first rolls i have sh...

So i finally decided to subscribe to Adobe for lightroom (and soon premiere pro) after having used Adobe Photoshop 5.0 and the original Vegas Video since 2004.  Wow is there a difference! There are so many more tools you can use to do some awesome edits so much quicker...

Last Sunday, Dora and I went on a much deserved food date before the underwhelming Seahawks game.   We went to Akane Ramen in Woodinville, WA after a recommendation from a co-worker of mine.  I would rate this ramen my 2nd favorite ramen in Washington, ahead of Santouk...
